Looking to buy/trade for Bird of Paradise birdnest and Green birdnest.

Near SGV/Walnut. Oc probably furthest I'd go for these..

Bigger frags better. Need corals that help drain Alk faster.

can trade for SPS

Shoot. What's the biggest you're looking for ? I have a bright green one that's 12x12 that I've been meaning to list for sale.

I have Tyree Phonape From Golf ball to Grape Fruit sized colonies

If you really wanna drop Alk - Come borrow a couple of my frag racks - They are covered in Coraline and suck Alk and Calc like a Dyson.

But using Coral Growth to drop Alk is probably not the right way to solve that problem.

Located in the SFV - Encino

How many ml per sec are you dosing? I can't keep up with my alk lately...

I had a small crash earlier this year. I didnt lose much frags but alot of my colonies became frags. And i guess coraline algae stopped too.

So im in a spot where my calcium reactor is too much. At lowest dose it still raise 1 alk a day. Hitting 10+

So im using kalk temporarily to cover dosing. Need to dose around 6000ml a day to keep alk stable.

I think a few more corals and some time will help.

Do you have an Alkatronic for your tank? I have my Dastaco Cranked way up because during the day when the sun is out the Alk consumption is insane. So when the Dastaco catches up to the Alk demands a few hours after sunset the Alkatronic shuts off the Dastaco. It cycles a few minutes every hour so the water inside doesn't stagnate. But by keeping the Dastaco as my 'Source' and having the Alkatronic over see it has really helped with the stability.

If you want to head to the Valley I have a couple of big corals I can 'lease' to you till your corals get bigger, of you get your Dastaco dialed in for the existing load.

'Lease' means take some of my big colonies, and then bring them back in a few months with a couple of other frags that you didn't get from me :)

And I do have a few eggcrates where a 1/2 sheet of eggcrate is holding over a lb of coraline.

If I can help in any way, just ask.

Tony I have a decent size colony of Miami orchid that grows pretty quick, it's prob about 12" or so if u want to borrow.

I setup the Versa to dose 1500ml 4 times a day. Lol. About 5 minute each dose

oh you don't dose continously with your versa? Can't you just lower your dosing amount for the day or reduce the dosage amount? 3ml matches your dosage for the day, but seems low??

I'm dosing 64ml per min @ 6.7ph = 92,160ml per day..

I use the VERSA for Kalk through a kalk reactor. This way I control the exact dosage. I can't turn my Dastaco on. even at lowest setting it's too high lol.

I noticed my coralline growth has stopped. rocks are becoming clean. That used to take up quite a lot of consumption. borrowing Dave's might help more.

Thanks Juan, i dont feel comfortable borrowing corals haha. just another thing i have to worry about. I contacted Dave about the coralline racks. Those should help. ill scrape those off and boost coralline growth. should catch up on consumption fairly quickly
