birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

actually it should be a wheeler's goby... he's already red with white stripes so it's like a real life where's waldo

Ya muttley. We blocked the street. I can't believe the size of pumps and diameter of skimmers myself. The skimmer is 6 foot diameter.

Unbelievable project. I can't wait to see the progress pictures and wish you all the best on everything coming together smooth. Do you have a goal for when you'd like to have water in the tank by, or is it just a matter of when things get complete?

Frostlaster. More the latter. But I would venture to guess water in by june or summer. Then it needs few months to cycle as rock is dry Marco rock. In meantime, plumbing can start but then the house needs an extention for the filter rooms. They going to start digging that now as we needed tank in the house first.

Man, it's days like this I'm happy the Steinhart Aquarium is a local attraction I might be too tempting to convert my garage into a massive tank :D However the building aspect is what usually fascinates me the most.

Guys. Everyone is focusing on the big boy but i think a 3 k gallon sps system will take up more of my time and more challenging. I will be taking pictures of that frame after blue paint is done. Its sitting in my garage. The larger tank will pose different kind of challenges. Like what size quarantine system needed to introduce tons of fish. .?.. We thinking of several 180s stacked. One for copper one for prazzi. One for antibiotic and or just examining F anyone has any good ideas on nutrient control for either system. Nitrate or phosphates id love to hear. Been going back and forth with large reactors of gfo and biopellets Or just going for sulphur denitrator. Not looking foward to changing all that gfo.

Forgive me if you mentioned it, but what are the dimensions of the two tanks? Sitting in the cheap seats, I agree that while the big fish-only tank may be the more "exciting" one to watch get built, 3,000 gallons of SPS goodness will certainly be a more demanding task to maintain. Looking forward to all of it.
