birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

Also with this large of a volume, one sick animal might not be able to infect enough of the water volume to reach others, so the others might be effectively isolated.

Ok so update time :: pictures to follow when it starts to get good. The main steel piling and digging for filter room extentions on big project is under way. I saw them really digging today big. Concrete underpin to follow. I'll take pics for construction nuts. To me is boring stuff. Bring me back when framed and sheet rock. Few things to report in the current 1500 gallon system though. Since tahiti I have been feeding coral polyps 2x per day and few times per week at night. We using reefroids, reef chilli, coral frenzy, oyster feast, and started making our own pappete with fresh seafood. During this time we got an industrial ro di unit going to be used on new system. The net result is we can make 2 gallons per minute and filling up our vats in just few hours. So.. we also are changing like 40 to 50 gallons per day in addition to the weekly 200 gallon water change. I'd say we doubled our water changes. 400 gallons per week. I can report not a single sps loss from carbon change or gfo change or anything. Not one loss. All polyp extention significantly better. Not even close. Just don't bake your corals!!

Taking daughters to college next few days. Has to wait few days till I'm back. Going with yalcin. He's the picture guy.!! Lol.

I totally forgot about rodi. I thought you were talking about rodi for the new setup, but it was just for the old setup. Can't quite imagine the rodi for the new setup.

One last thing I forgot. Because all the new coral food was lowering orp and shutting down skimmer, I added a new aux skimmer just as ozone reactor. 500 mg ozone with dryer. It goes on once redox fall below 305 and the high is set at 320. It only tends to go on for last few hours in afternoon.

Nice to hear from you Andrew!...your up early this morning.
Interesting,...of the two which do you consider is the most beneficial to your corals (I know both are important factors) the increased water changes or feedings? On Elliott's thread,...he has posted about the benefits of day feeding.

For me, I need to read your last post a few more times to get a better understand.
What triggers your skimmer to shut down with a lower orp? a controller? I'm always interested in the nuts and bolts part of a system that ties all the mechanics together.---Rick

I think the coral feedings most responsible rick. Actual no3 po4 levels not much different. The coral food itself. Reefroids chilli and pappete and all the crap put in tank shuits the foam of skimmer neck down for while and orp will go from 320 to 290. Just from organics in water. Ozone kicks in below 305 and it will run back via controller until 320. I'm not a 360 to 400 guy who needs to sniff the stuff all the time. Just after heavy coral feedings!!!
