birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

Pretty weird they got sick in hospital tank i
Of all places. Few dots became major outbreak. Salt change Could that have done it. .?

I believe that the parasites are always present but a healthy fish is resistant to them. I had a yellow tang in my display that beat up any new additions so moved it to a QT tank so I could add other fish to display, it freaked and had a major ich breakout. I treated with a heavy garlic soaking of all food for three weeks. He recovered fully. By the way the build is looking great so far.

You will like chloroquine phosphate, so much better than copper. Much less stressful to fish.

Ich is not always present if you never let it get into the system. Treat and/or quarantine all things going in to the tank. That means no fish in coral holding systems that could possibly hold ich, minimum of 4 weeks in fishless system for all corals, live rock, etc. Not impossible but just takes a lot of diligence to make sure it never gets into a reef tank. Once it is there it is impossible to eradicate because meds also kill corals and other reef inverts. You can keep it suppressed in most cases if stress levels in fish and parameters remain ideal, but if anything goes out of balance then it can always show up if it is there.

Thx guys. This am the butterfly's look great no stress issues. No ammonia. Just added last batch of cp to bring it to 60mg per gallon. So far so good. Lights are out. We turn them on for a feed and then off again.

EDITED*** My post would have derailed Andrew's thread.
It was in regards to QT and Crypto entering the DT.
Ill post it elsewhere.

Andrew,....beside following your great build thread,...there is so much other good information that comes with it.---Rick

Things got done pretty fast! Happy to see so much progress!
It's amazing to see how much construction and dedication this is taking as well as patience.
So much detail is going into your build Andrew that the results will be EPIC

Man, I bet you cannot wait for the finish work to start, it has definitely been a lot of work for you and your contractors. Project will be awesome when done. Look forward to your posts talking about loading in livestock. Best of luck from here on out.
