Bite Marks or ??

Recently retrieved a duplicate Miyagi Tort colony from behind some rocks and noticed some strange discoloration. Do these look like aefw bite marks or something else?

They do not look like bite marks to me.

Did you dip it? Did anything come off?

Not yet, will be doing a Bayer dip tomorrow.

Its more like paling due to excess light or lack of nutrients

I did just switch back to halides and it was previously in a shaded location

Not bite marks. You'll typically find bite marks on the underside, and they are small round holes, hard to mistake them

Looks like paling to me. Most likely from being shaded. Give it a dip to be safe and keep an eye on its progress.

I dipped just in case but didn't see anything come off.

if this was moved from a shaded location the white marks youre seeing are new corallite growth, if you leave it there polyps will start growing from those spots soon.

i have very similar paling patches on a few of my acros recently. i dont see any pests either and am trying to diagnose it. please keep the thread up to date and i will come back if i figure out anything that helps as well
