Bizarre behavior from my Green Carpet

I have had my Green Carpet Anemone for about 6 months and in that time he has more than doubled in size. He eats and is a bright green color. Now the problem - he moves all over the tank and contracts to the point where he is almost gone. Then after scrunching up like this (sometimes for up to a day at a time) he returns to his full size like nothing ever happened. BTW, I also have a blue Long Tentacled Anemone that exhibits none of this behavior. Any ideas or suggestions?

Could he be taking a poop? See if it looks like he's pooping.

Something is bothering your green carpet if it is wandering around the tank and contracting like that constantly. I recommend you do a large water change and replace your carbon.

Yes I agree that something is bothering it. Ive had my carpet for almost 2 years now and its only moved once. It moved from my 55g to my 125g. Did you change anything with the tank lately?
