So I'm cycling a qt as my DT had ich. For 2.5 weeks after I started my cycle with pure ammonia nothing was happening. Wasn't detecting nitrites so I got a bacteria in a bottle ( atm colony ) as that's all that's available local and a week after adding it I'm getting the following readings. Ammonia 1-2pm Nitrite 7ppm as per hanna checker and 5 ppm nitrate as per salifert.
Now my other cycle was nothing like this. I had the ammonia spike then Nitrite spike then nitrate. I have a little of everything with this new cycle.
Wait it out or do something about it?
