BK Mini (Gen 1) Motor Issue

Jeremy,

I purchased a BK 200 Mini (Gen 1) a long time ago from you guys and have been pleased with the purchase. While the motor has been acting up for a while (the foam column would kind of bounce up and down) last week it just stopped working. Did the vinegar soak for a few days, cleaned it out but it just hums. Can you tell me my options on a replacement motor block? I think I've read somewhere that you could use a Laguna 1500 but that getting the base plate off the current motor block was nearly impossible. Can you comment on that and let me how much a BK replacement motor block would be? You can PM me the answer if you like.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

We do have a Gen 1 block available for that skimmer, price on it is $199. If it's still humming though it almost sounds like an impeller to me, and not a block. Also, when you pull the impeller out of the block is the end bearing frozen to the end of the shaft when it comes out?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for the response Jeremy.

Nope seems like the impeller is fine. I tried plugging it back in and it started but then it shut down again. The problem that I've been having is that the foam head would bounce up and down kinda like the motor was quickly switching from normal to slow speed back and forth. Then it would run fine for a while. Now like I said it just shuts down. Should I just go to the website to order? (Just got your Labor Day flier.)

Thanks,

Dan

Sounds like it could be a bad block then. Give me a call when you get time and we can get an order done for you on it. 317-895-9005

Thx Jeremy of course I called while you were at lunch. I'll try back later today.
