BK's 110 Gallon Build

I would think that Nook means to manually dose to get your Ca up and then test to make sure that your Reactor is keeping up with the demand.

Yeah, I would dose calcium to bring it up by 50ppm per day. I just did this with my tank when I saw my calcium was only 300. I used calcium chloride and J Dieck's reef calculator:

Thanks guys. I like that calculator a lot better than what I have been using. It actually tells you to not mess with stuff if you are close to the range instead of the other one flashing an add for the product you need to use to "FIX" the problem.

I think at this time I will leave it alone and observe for a week or two. If need be I will adjust the Ca up at that time.

From the calculator (based on 130 gallons water volume):

Calcium chloride dihydrate:

162.5 grams; 5.7 oz; approx 32.5 tsp

Balanced alkalinity:

4.45 meq/l at 450 ppm

Warnings and usage:

Dissolve it in RO/DI or distilled water before dosing and not dose all at once. Although it may be ok to do so, I don't recommend it. Dose 1/3 to 1/2 and the next day test. Check your levels and then dose another portion.

Pretty close to what I got as the response. Only mine said your pretty close so don't mess with it unless you see a problem.

Keep an eye on your numbers, that calcium could be down to 300 before you know it. I don't disagree with not increasing it if you are just wanting to be cautious to see how your calcium reactor handles the tank. Definitely a learning curve there.

I added 2 Jebao WP 25's and removed 1 MP10. Now I have 1 MP10 and 2 WP 25's on the tank. Holly sandstorm! I'll probably remove the MP 10 since it's really not needed.

The WP 25's are both set on Speed 2 (75%) in Else Mode.

Nice tank! Do you have the tall pile of rock on the right side of the tank secured together or just stacked up?

It's all secured together like a puzzle. When I made the rock I made it to fit specifically in that corner and made each piece interlock with the next. It's not bonded or anything but the way the pieces fit they don't need bonding.

And... Thank you!

It sits on the tank frame. It's fed from my main pump via a 1/4" line and drains into the tank via a 1/2 tube. The dimensions are 18"x5"x1.5". Perfect for the ricordea to grow out and attach.
