I just received news that Bil Brothers had passed away this afternoon (sun july 8th).
I am sure there are many people on the COMAS forum that remember Bil, both from his visits to the club and from his regular booth at the CRASE shows.
I have known Bil for close to 10 years. He was afflicted with a rare condition called Freidreichs attaxia which is a progressively debilitating disease affecting the nerves, and muscles. This afternoon Bil suffered a heart attack and died. In the 10 years I have known Bil he has been wheel chair bound- but never for one second did he let that stop him. He had one of the kindest and nicest dispositions of anyone I have ever met. If you have met him, you know what I mean- if you havent met Bil, but chatted with him, Im sure you would never know. He was never one to put his problems on others. If you did not know Bil, then your loss is possibly greater than mine.
I met Bil thru keeping reef tanks. I learned a lot from him, and im sure he still has secrets I will never find. He was an absolute star at growing corals. Second to none.
Im sure my sadness at his death is nothing to the way his family must feel. His mom, Cindy is one of the kindest people I know and my heart goes out to her, as it does to Bill, his soon-to-be-stepfather.
Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.
