black A. ocellaris

Thanks Sally, I've been to IA several times, although, not in the last couple of years so I may have to plan a little Sunday drive soon. ;)

I do have a question about these guys and their coloration. I've been told that the pair I'm getting are all black at times, and at other times their noses are slightly brown. So my question is, is the all black coloration a result of nutrition, environment, age, genetics, or...???? Also, do you think their color can actually change back-and-forth, or is it just poor observation?

Good observation and no corilation to anything else that I have found, execpt for "wear" from cleaning.

Oops, the will go light when stressed too.

Sorry for hurting your eyes. I am the third person (and last ;) ) to own this spawning pair of ocellaris, so I'm unable to find out where they are originally from. It's not visible in the pic, but the male has quite an underbite, and the female is about 3"...

Being captive bred should not make a difference... I have seen these clowns host in anemones often... I have several freinds who have them hosting...

Also Every captive bred clown I have owned has hosted just fine.... Never has been a issue... I have had harder times trying to get wild clowns to host because they are so tied too one type of anemone that they hosted in the wild..
