Black Brittle Star for 55g?

I have a 55g reef tank. I was cleaning the tanks at work & came across a black brittle star. I thought he was pretty cool looking & was wondering if it would be good for cleaning my sand bed.

The tank is a little over a year old & there's a lot of crap on the sand. I've read that they're scavengers & if the sand bed gets too clean their diet can be supplemented with freeze dried shrimp, clam, oyster, ect.

Would it be alright in my 55g & would I have to cover my tank/childproof my powerheads/overflow? Anything I might be overlooking?

Thanks for any info or input.

edit: It's black & has a hexagonal body. Here's a link to a very similar pic for reference. http://www.bluezooaquatics.com/productDetail.asp?did=2&pid=1268&cid=85

black brittles are awesome. I had a huge one in my old 55 gallon. they clean the sand bed, and move around a lot at night. only problem is that they don't come out during the day too much.

Mine pretty much stays hidden in the rocks until dinner time. Then he comes out and begs. I've never seen him on the sand and I often watch the tank after lights out with a red lens flashlight.

Thanks for the replies. I picked him up the other night & let him acclimate in a bucket for 3 hours (was watching a movie w/ the g/f so I was preoccupied.)

Added him to the tank & he went right under a rock. Haven't seen him since but I'll start looking for him as soon as I can find some of that red saran-wrap stuff.
