i am getting two Black Sailfin Blennys and i cant find much info on them. does any one know about them?

Treat them like your average lawnmowers. You might have a hard time getting them to eat prepared foods. How big is your tank? Blennies are extremely territorial towards one another. :D

lfs they are a pair and they are nothing like lawnmowers. they already eat frozen.
they are going in a 10 gallon.
does any one have personal experience with them?

Very cool fish. I kept one for many months until I lost it to a temp spike over the summer (chiller failed). It was readily eating mysis shrimp, and was the model reef citizen. Good luck with yours!

You can keep them in groups if the tank is big enough and you dont hasve to many males. On the pic above is a male with the big dorsal fin. They eat all kind of laoting food which fist in their mouth and are not algea eaters therefor the comparism with S.faciatus is not correct.

I had one, he had a lot of personality, ate everything. That is until he went carpet surfing. Through egg grating. :(

Nothing like lawnmowers you say? You were the one wanting to know things about them, so how would you know they are nothing like lawnmowers? They eat algae, Hide in holes, ect. Sounds like lawnmower material to me. . :D

Hey, that is my photo. Pretty cool that somebody is actually using one of my pictures. It lived for about 6 months, but died when the tank got too hot. I also lost my Jawfish. Both bottom fish.

They aren't similar to LMB's, it ate everything I fed it. It was very easy to take care of. It liked to back into holes in the rockwork. If I didn't have a Hawk, I would consider getting another. The one in the photo was only about 1" long.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try to answer them. HTH

I had one a few years back.I don't remember it have any special dietary needs, but it loved to hide in empty snail shells.
