black clown or reg clown?

if you had to choose between a black and white ocellaris
or the normal colors, orange and white ocellaris, which would you pick?

very good idea :)
should i get the black one a lil larger than the regular? this way if they fight the black clown will win?
the price tag is high so i would of course rather not lose the black clown to a fight, i dont mean to sound cruel to the fish world :(
i will get them at the same time will this help?

i actually have one of each. they were almost the same size when i got the black and white one, but now, the black and white one is much bigger. they paired off and stopped fighting after a couple of days. had them both about a year and half. the black and white one is mean as hell now to everything else in the tank.

Beemo the basic idea is to try and get the smallest ones you can find. I would call a couple of RC sponsors and see if they will pair them up for you that way you wouldn't be the one who loses the fish.

well at the store they have 6 black ones, the smallest is about 1/2" and the largest is about 1.5"
the tank below is the reg oceallis clowns, they range the same about 1/2" to 1.5", they have about 50 oc's

You could try getting one of each and at the store, request that both are about the same size. That should help avoid fighting, although it's not guaranteed they won't anyway.

ive never had clowns before, im a cichlid person lol
so im used to extreme fighting fish. are clowns as bad a cichlids?

I have the normal false percs. However I definitely would get at least one black one. And I'd find a juvi that was already all black! I think if you found the same age/size and put them in the tank together at the same time they would go great. Plus what great color contrast! ~Matt

I recently bought a pair of clowns and had a choice between about four types, all priced the same. I narrowed it down to a pair of B & W saddlebacks or regular orange ocellaris. I thought about the saddlebacks a lot, but ended up getting the orange ones for two reasons: they add an incredible splash of colour, and they were tank bred.
I like the idea of getting one black and white and one orange and white, that would be a great looking pair.

Which ones look the best to you. That's what i would get....Good Luck, and post some pics when you make up your mind.
