Black combtooth benny was actually a yellow sailfin...?

I bought a black combtooth benny a couple months ago off DD LA, he arrived healthy and all was good. Over the course of the first two weeks he changed from completely DARK black to yellow, completely yellow. I'm not complaining though, I've always wanted one. I just needed another fish to get these damn PO4 up lol. Anyone ever had this happen before?
