Black dots on mangrove stem

There are quite a few black protrusions coming from my mangroves. I am hoping that they are the begining of prop roots but you tell me.

Very promising looking tank!

I find mangrove propagules with these black dots on them alllll the time. I haven't yet seen that turn into fungus, rot, or anything else problemental. They seem to be too high up on the plant to be the beginnings of prop roots.. but then I havent worked with this species long enough to really know. Maybe Triterium is floating around out there, or Bill?
