Black ich on yellow tang

I have had my yellow tang and dogface puffer in 29gal QT for almost 2 months now. Originally for marine ich. PUffer seems 100%, eats and swims like crazy. I did daily 50% water changes for like 2 weeks at 1.009 salininty, and seems to have knocked that out. Haven't seen marine ich on yellow tang for at least 2 weeks, but now seems he has black ich. Has lost interest in food, is lethargic. How do I kill this stuff? I brought the salinity slowly back up to about 1.014 over the course of a week, I want them to flush their kidneys out. Should I drop the salinity back down? Resume heavy water changes? I am trying freshwater baths, both seem to tolerate them well. Formalin?

black ich i didnt even know that existed.

have you tried...garlics and vitamins

have you tried your luck with rid ich or kick ich?

how about copper?

Lost him last night, I had that fish for over 5 years.

To anyone reading this, QT any new fish, no matter how clean you think they might be, for several weeks before placing in the display with other fish.

Thanks to all that offered suggestions.

Sorry for your loss.

Black ich is easy to treat and is normally not considered lethal like marine ich. FW bath or perhaps a formalin bath (sometimes multiple) should eliminate black ich.
