Black ich

I noticed black spots on my yellow tang. It looks like black ich. He didn't have it couple days ago. I'm going to do a FW dip as a treatment. Will a UV system cure the DT of any type of ich if I ran it at a slow rate? I want to buy one if it will help. if so what wattage would be good for my 55G reef?

Fresh water dip will help. Treat in quarantine with formalin based med. I really wouldn't worry about a UV at this moment. But probably a 9 or 18 watt would be sufficient. It helps reduce the incidence of disease not eliminate it entirely.

Thanks Percula9..... should i run the UV at it's rated GPH 24/7 or should I slow it down for more contact 24/7 or is there an on/off cycle with UV set ups? Sorry for the many OR's. I want to make sure I use it right and not kill off anything that I need.
