Black Ocellaris Breeding log

LOL, maybe I should have read the whole thread before changing the title. :D Let me know what you want it to be.

In any case they are good looking fish.

Hey DC,
They are probably black O's. I have a feeling that a lot of these fish change colors when they mature anyway. I've heard of so called Onyx percs that end up as regular percs, so the name should stand as is. Thanks for the complement.

The female is really nasty. The male keeps trying to get into the pot with her. He's very gentle about it, but she won't budge. It's really getting annoying.

I put a bigger flower pot in the tank. Maybe the smaller one was too cozy for two. The female immediately took to it so everything is okay for now. Maybe she'll be less agressive towards the male.

I realized I was getting restricted airflow through my sponge filter. So I unclogged it and added a wooden airstone. This prompted the male to enter the pot and he managed to stay for a while with the female. Although he is back to sleeping at the edge of the pot like a little puppy begging for food.

It seems every time I slightly rearrange the pot the male has the courage to enter. This may work for you too. Try it and let me know.
