Black or white bottom?

I year ago I tried raising clowns, with very little success through the larvae state. After taking a break, I'm ready to give it a try again. I believe one of the main reasons I did not do so well, is because of the larvae tank setup. My first question is, should all four sides be blacked out, with a blacked out bottom or with a white bottom?

Yes all black around, and white bottom. Need a heater, and airstone. No sand no rocks.

I have been reading that if I put a white bottom that the larva will go to the bottom. Instead of going to the top where the light is and their food. Having a white bottom is good for seeing the waste settling on the bottom and easy to see to be removed.

if you have a white bottom and all your fry go to the bottom them you need to dim your lights, i use sheets of copy paper to diffuse mine
