Black Sand

I have most of my rockwork in my 210g. AGA, I love the look of black sand and was wondering if anyone has tried or knows if it is a good idea. The only sand I can find is Tahitian Moon Sand and, I plan on using it as merely ground covering not a deep bed. Let me know if I should do it or not

Nanook has the same sand in his tank. As far as I know he has had no ill effects from it.

I liked the idea as well, I tried the black and white sand also. Personally I didn't like the look at all once I had the tank up and running and liked the look of white sand much better. I changed it out 2 times.
black -> black/white -> white

Now I'm onto bare bottom and its definitely the most convenient thus far. I didn't see any negative results from trying it though.

Black sand looks good for about a week. It shows dirt like none other.

No other ill effects that I know of. Might not buffer PH as well. My friend's had black sand for two years and has had no problems.

looks cool, but I have noticed without the white sand reflecting light it doesn't seem as bright.
