Black Sponge for sump

Where can I pick up some of the sponge that goes into the sumps as a bubble/debris trap? Looking for 3" x 3" x 24"long.

if your in a hurry then I would go to Tongs I know they have it there but if your not then got to HD and look at the section that has ponds they sell the same thing there and its for a larger piece just cut to fit and your set.

I thought air/bubbles were very very bad for sponges.

Bad??? How??? Never heard this before

I have been using them in a sump for many years now. Just monthly I swap them out with a fresh one and clean the old one.

nope most people use it becuase of airbuble getting back to the tank. He might be talking about sponges(corals).

Tony, I like the pore size of the Hagen Aquaclear sponges. I buy the big 4"x4"x10" ("500" size) and cut them up as needed. Maybe they have a 3" size that will work if you buy 3 of them?

4 x 4 is fine also. Its a temp system qt system as I move everything from the garage into the newfish room. Just want to get the QT up and running and stable first. Where can I get them?
