I have a piece of black sun coral that has developed a strange slime on a few of its branches. The ends of the branches are covered in a ball of the slime. The slime itself is thick and white, but slightly translucent. I recently had a large ammonia spike and a slight ph swing in the tank due to a piece of live rock I added that for some unknown reason "poisoned" the water. Since then the rock has been removed, and the water parameters have stabilized and are almost back to normal. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can save the coral or what the slime may be caused by specifically?
