Black Tang at PSP

I stopped into PSP Wednesday afternoon. They had a small black tang for sale. There was no price listed on the tank for him.
I asked the manager and she said that it was probably around $300. I took a pass on him.

Yea, the PSP in Findlay, just across from where the old Tony Paco's used to be.
GO GET HIM.....

told me 359 its not a true black tang.its a scopas hybred..no long nose.no green stripe along top fin and has the scopas body lines.many place sell these as black tangs they r not the real deal.

i have spent may hrs reading on them an how to tell them apart.go with blue zoo or dr f and smith if you want a real one

I just happen to know someone that was going to buy this little sucker. Good thing this thread came along to save the day.

I struggle with one thing. Paying that much for a fish that people will eat every day in the countries where they are harvested. I am not sure any fish in this hobby is truly worth more than $30, but that is just my opinion.

Since that fish is just a Scopas hybrid, then, in my opinion, it is probably worth about $20.

hmmmmmm... at $100+/ea for the lobster tails I brought home to eat, what's$300 for a hybrid black tang????:D

I'm back!!! Everybody was sleeping when I turned the lights on at about 10:30, but everything looked good! Guess I should expect nothing less, huh Dwayne?!?!?!

Thanks Dwayne! I need to get the hairy mushrooms out though, they kill the SPS when they contact them. The problem is they are all on my biggest base rocks. I also either need to sell the big monti caps or frag them, the whole thing is getting overgrown... At any rate the 90 in the garage will be a frag tank in the sun room once the weather gets better.

No, I haven't been back out since we got home... I was looking at him before we left.

We made a quick trip over to Findlay this afternoon. Stopped into PSP for just a quick look around. The "Black Tang" was still there and still in the $300 price range. The best deal of the day is on Firefish gobies. They are just $5.98 each. Great deal

Anybody been into PSP lately?
Is the "Black Tang" still there?
Not interested in buying just wondering if someone purchased it or if it died of PSP water quality.

I was in there today. Didn't see it, but wasn't looking. All of their wall tanks said "fish in wall tanks not for sale" or something like that.
