Hello all

Where did ever one that has a black tang track one down from? And what size was it ?

I have seen a couple on DD but they seem rather large

Also seen a couple on pia but not In a while

My local guy guy said he can get some but they would be 'large'

I am looking for a smaller sized one - <5 inch

Any Info would be aweso e

Thanks

Wait for june/july then there will be small once

Got mine from a LFS around 3 years ago, it was the size of a quarter and is now 3"s. that year they seemed to be everywhere and all around a quarter to 50 cent piece sizes. I saw at least 10 that size in person. They should be around soon.

Thy look grate with the silver under the dorsal fin always changing size depending on emotion
But not my one I have a dut always hiding

Blue Ribbon Koi (LFS) in Virginia gets them pretty regularly. May want to give John a call. Not sure if he ships regularly.

From what I've seen and I've seen a few, they are almost always large. Maybe it has to do with collection site or area you're in? GL when you get yours. They are beauties for sure!

I will post pics if i can track one down. I will go with large if it is a must but i would perfer a smaller guy so he can grow up

I'm not even into black tangs, but the one on LADD is gorgeous!!

agreed !

Mine has yet to form any silver/blue color on it. I honestly would prefer if it stayed all black. I only know of one that has stayed all black and is over 5"s. the other few I know of locally all have the streak. The one without has been in the same 300 gallon tank for 5 years or so now and with 3-4 other small fish. I guess it never gets stressed since its the king of the tank and it has been there since it was a quarter size.

I know nuts huh - but it's the keystone in my arch
My lfs had 8-10 last year in the 3" range. Wait for what you want.
I will try my best - this hobby has taught me patients and the rewards from it
