saw a black tang and some sohals yesterday at a local fish store, i was wondering if ill have any compatibility issues if i get both of them at the same time. the black tang was really small, looks like about 1.5 inches? and the sohal i wanted was about 2-3 inches.

Provided that the Black Tang is larger than the sohol and has been introduced first it shouldnt be a problem.

If the sohal is larger than the black tang and was introduced first you're going to see a white and red tang.

I introduced rhomboids after the sohal and it punked them to near death.

I had a black tang that was larger than him that I introduced afterwards, it was getting beat up.

Black Tang 5"
Sohal Tang 4"

I got rid of both of them and kept the rhomboid pairs.

Sohal, very very aggressive, he should always be your last addition.

Aside from all that, goodluck dont risk it!

One or the other, Id go for the Black if you want to add more fish, Sohal if you know you're set.

Forgot to add, your tank is a bit too small to keep a Sohal.

Need at least 120+ otherwise he will be very crabby.

They are always crusing around the tank, hes always the first one up in the morning and the last one out at night. They are rarely afraid to come out.

thanks everyone, i guess ill wait on getting that sohal untill i get a bigger tank and when everythings all set

Hes got some healty goods there.

I saw a few Mystery Wrasses. I was so tempted to buy them. But they dont get along with my other wrasses.

They also love eating your cleaners and fire shrimp. sometimes snails if they cant flip over and crabs! -_-

sohal for 100.00 and black tang was sold for 375.00. LFS said they can order some more black tang if you call them ahead of time. I think there is a shipment of it really soon.

Wow prices on everything have gone down so much.

Either these animals better evolve quick and multiply, or the LFS will be out of business selling everything so cheap.

it is really hard to tell whether the black tang that size is real or hybrid. Be careful when buying it. Make sure that it is from a know shipper with good reputation. Especially when it that cheap.

I had known serveral people who though they bough a black tang only to find out later, much later , when the tang reach adult that it was a hybrid.
