I searched but not good pictures showing a black tang is there one?
Are they hard to take care/
I have not been to the LFS in Mechanicburg in months but has one juvenile and I need to know if it is real one or what the others said as a Zebrasoma scopas but not a real black tang rostratum. genuine “black tang.” has greenish tinge that runs along the dorsal spine this is absent in scopas tangs is this right?

Black tangs are not hard to take care of, and have similar hardiness as the other Zebrasomas species.
The easiest way to tell them apart from a scopas is the price :D If it costs well into several hundred dollars then it most likely is a black tang.

The LFS has the suppliers slip said Zebrasoma rostratum is for 449.99 black Tang.

So as long as the LFS did not get ripped off by the wholesaler selling a scopas as a black tang, then at that price it is most likely a black tang.

Check the length of the snout.. the black tangs have the longest snout in the Zerbrasomas species.

thank you ,
I am holding off for now.
If you know anyone like to get one they should go to the LFS in mechanicsburg
