Blackback Butterfly - Lymphocytis?

Hi all! Newbies here. We have a butterfly that we got a little over a week ago. He had two white dots on his tail when we got him, and it's gotten a lot worse. The spots are only present on the fins and tail.

He finally starting eating some frozen mysis today. Otherwise, he's been swimming around with a Pakastani butterfly and pecking at the live rock. We also have a clownfish in there. Neither of them have the same white spots.

We're thinking lymphocytis fits the bill but would appreciate everyone's opinion.

A picture would help, but from just your description it sounds like ich. Are the spots large, or more like grains of salt sprinkled on the fins?

I tried posting some pictures but they don't seem to show up. Not sure what the problem is.

The spots are more like clumps than grains of salt sprinkled.

Ah, ok. I'd bet on lympho, it should correct itself with a balanced diet and good water quality.

That is also my guess. Lymphocystis will appear as lumpy as opposed to cryptocaryon irritans which will appear as salt.
