Blackish Dots under Pearly Jawfish skin

I'm going to attach a photo below

So I just noticed some black spots underneath my Jawfish's scales. My best guess was initially black ich, but it doesn't quite match the pictures I've found floating around the internet. These dots appear rather spherical and seem to be UNDER his skin. Is it harmful?

He's behaving normally, and I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. He's had the same den for upwards 3 months now, and he keeps expanding. He's the only fish in a 10 gallon cube. He shares his space with some snails, a blue porcelain crab, a dwarf feather duster, and a few heads of duncan coral. He hasn't shared space with another fish since August. Everything and everyone else in the tank seems fine, aside from an algae problem I've been having (parameters stay on point, just poor nutrient exportation with my current setup. Have a fuge I'm going to set up in the future, but currently, only seems to look ugly and not cause problems otherwise. Crab likes to pick at it.)

I rotate between feeding him mysis shavings and Formula one pellets.

I'm attaching a photo to this thread, please help me figure out what's up with Gravedigger! I love him (her?) dearly.

Bump?

Fish still appears to be acting normally, eating just fine. Spots haven't changed at all.

As a side note, They are asymmetric, so it seems unlikely that they're just markings.
