are there any harmful effects of having a black light for the moonlighting...this will be on my 10 gal fish only tank

id think for fish only would be fine, but lets not pretend its the same thing as moonlighting, thats my 2 cents...id just look for an actintic bulb to put in ur current blacklight fixture, or just spring for some real actintic...it will look cool during the day as well.

I don't know exactly. If I were you I would just buy regular moonlight. Blacklight maybe harmful but I don't know. What brand is it?

black lights are harmfull to the retinas of fish. it will burn them out. so if you want some blind fish then go for it. however, i would advise against that. haha

no problem. i would look into seeing if you can find some sort of LED light strand since xmas crap has already hit the shelves. wouldnt you be able to get a strand of blue led xmas lights and cut the strand down so you dont have 60 of them. haha

the only reason i even considered using a black light is it makes m y live rock glow and it is pretty diim very similar to moonlight but the last thing i want is fish carrying canes around
