ok so im starting my own thread and will be posting updates fairly often the tank was just set up yesterday (well the new one) i had an old one same size but plexi glass and overflow box now its glass and since i can actually see through the glass i can take pics and start my thread and i got built in overflows now 2 (not plumbed yet) will be soon.

First i have to say special thanks to my moms boyfriend Geno for buying me the new tank and making this able to happen.

~ive been in the hobby for about 2 years and still learning a lot but tanks doing well and fish all healthy and active. and frags growing i hope for over a long period of time i can look at this thread and see the growth of all my corals.

All the corals look healthy and vibrant. What kind of aquascape are you planning for this new tank? Keep up the great work Blake!

ok so the tank cleared up yay for that and even better i got my new return pump 1800 gph and hooked up all the pipeing just waiting for the silicone to dry in the 'T' pipe that gets the water from the return to both overflows some (the reason why there's tape on it is to keep the pipes from sliding out while it drys) but yeah here are some pics of the T and new pump. and some bad tank shots tooken by my blackberry haha

just not a good idea
would have been best to get a threaded tee and put those threaded hose nipples (?) in it with some teflon so you could push the hose onto that and ensure a good seal

well it already had a snug fit only was slipping out bc the wet silicone but i think it will fine im gonna do an extra silicone layer after it drys for extra support then duck tape or electrical tape for a little extra also but if it starts to leak i can ezly switch it out seems fine to me tho we will find out tom when its dry haha

If you spent all that money on the set-up and cheep out on plumbing you are looking for a disaster. HomeDepot, Lowes, Ace, and True Value all sell the "T" that you are looking for. If they don't have, it can be ordered. It is at best a $10 part... And the tape could add unwanted chemicals into the system.

Good Luck.

update this thread when it fails
I will be outside duct taping a wheel barrow tire on my car because it will get me to the store

Looks good bro. you can always throw that big ugly heater in the sump.. so its hidden.. other than that good scape on the LR and racks look good...

Let the lovin let lovin come back to me.....

and to you mario have fun with your little junk car you will make when my pipe works its going to be a good laugh at you buddy

here ya go buddy... is that 1/2" hose?

3.49 at home depot.. they have some gray ones there but I dont see them online and I am sure they have 3/4" too just trying to give you an idea of something even easier than a pvc tee and adding your own threaded barbed ends... no assemble required :D

Im not trying to rag you about it.. you have a real nice setup, rockwork looks good and corals look good too.. just would hate for you to wake up one morning and find that the mag 18 pumped all the water in the sump out onto the floor :uzi::fish2:
