Blasto welsi Q's..with pic

i wanted to know from any of you that keep or has kept blasto welsi if yours have ever got real puffy bubbles like this in the pic...it is just starnge looking to me..they polyps are always open and this coral never seems to be upset at anything just did not know if it was normal or not..thanks for any input on this

First off, beautiful Blasto's. Secondly I had a polyp that did that about a year ago. Polyp still has the bubble and is doing fine. Would love to know why it happened though.
 
thank you superfirefly..my buddy has a frag that came off the same colony and his does the same..don't really know why..it looks pretty cool to me just want to know what causes it..thanks for you input
 
wow ive been to lazy to post up about mine, but I have one that does the same thing.

It started after I fragged the colony, and the edges where it was cut bubble up like that and almost engulf the whole colony now.

It still grows fine, but doenst look as good since its covering the cool green centers...
 
I've had one of my blasto bubble up like that. Keep feeding it, and within a couple of months, it will calcify and form small heads, then drop off to reproduce asexually. I believe this has been documented in either Eric Boreman's book or Julian Sprung's book.
