Blastomusa growth rate?

Hi -

I purchased a larger polyped blasto frag with the green center and red "lips" around September. The frag started with 3 full polyps and a 1/4 polyp. The 1/4 polyp has since grown to a full polyp, and the polyps have grown larger but not much else in the way of new polyps. At the same swap i bought another blasto with the much smaller polyps that is pretty much doing the same thing.

I am curious what the growth rate is for blasto's in general, if this is normal, or if i should try to change something to get them growing better. I feed them about once a week and they are definitely eating. They also look healthy. I read that they are slow growing, but this seems ridiculous! I also read that they do not like to form new growth on their skeletons, but I am not sure how to accomodate that with the larger polyped blasto. All my other SPS/LPS/Softies are doing well and the parameters are in check. Other frags that i got at the same time are starting to make me wonder if I am doing something wrong with these. Both frags near the bottom of the tank, but not on the sand. Lighting is T5. Also, i am not clear on how these multiply - do the polyps split (like on a candy cane) or something else?

the blasto frag...is it attched to a piece of rock? and if so is there a way for the coral to grow downward to the rock? example would be using epoxy or glue to make a ramp to the rock...this would allow for quicker growth. Also I would feed it more than once a week. Try 2-3 times. Blastos like acans and other mussids have a slower growth rate than that of a euphylia (sp.) coral.

they are quite slow but the feeding should help. they split by budding off small polyps around the perimeter. Low flow seems to be ideal with moderate lighting
