Blastomussa Help

I have a blastomussa welsi and one of the polyps has its mouth wide open. It has been like that for a couple of days. Does anyone know whats wrong with it? Thank you.

if it starts to receed which very well might happen even though by the picture evrythinng seems fluffed up.

if it does.
shade it and feed it and keep it in low low flow

Yeah the picture is misleading. The frogspawn is in the background a good distance away from the blasto.

mine do that when they are hungry. I agree with less light though. what is your temp?

My colony of Blasto wellsi is now starting to do this. It's a Xmas morph and has done fine in a nice shady spot since I got it, that was about a month ago. Three days ago it started not opening and all 11 polyps have their mouths agape! I moved it out into the light thinking maybe it was not getting enough light. It is now sitting next to one of my acan colonies (not able to touch each other). That colony has always been there with no problems. The only difference I can think of was I repositioned one of my returns to face the glass. It's possible that the resonance of the water flow was hitting this colony in the face. i have since repostioned it to flow behind my aquascape. Any thoughts? I would really hate to loose this colony! It was a Father's Day gift from my wife & son.

it sould be hungry or it could be trying to spit some old food out... might be having a hard time

i'd make sure they are clear of all other corals, they are super sensitive, even to zoo's.
