Bleach and bubble algae

I had to break down and bleach my rock because it was unsalvagable with algae. Its been soaking for 3 days in a 10% bleach solution but the bubble algae is still intact. Is the bubble algae dead and unable to reproduce or will the spores or whatever is inside the bubbles still be able to reproduce if they pop when placed back in saltwater eventually?

Why not scrub the rock first to get the bubbles off and then bleach? You could even go so far as to do a brief acid bath.

I did but there are small bubbles in the crevices that are hard to reach. Most look translucent now but there are a few that have a little green to them. I don't thing the acid bath would really harm the algae as much as bleach would.

I suspect the algae are dead, but you could keep adding a bit of bleach now and then until they look more convincingly killed. That's what I'd do.

If the bleach does not work I would try Hydrogen Peroxide? Here is a good thread.

I would give them an acid bath also. This will remove a thin layer off of the rock
