Bleached BTA - to feed to not to feed

New to salt and new to anemone, which meant I bought a bleached BTA from my LFS [emoji35]. I keep seeing different opinion on to feed or not to feed to try to get him back. I would think that since she's bleached she would not be getting the food from the lights so I would feed. But some say to not feed for 2 weeks to see if she pulls through? Suggestions?

I call her a she because she moved herself to the underside of my rocks which will make feeding a real b/$&@

I might squirt 1/4 cube of Mysis towards her with flow off and see what happens.
If she makes no attempt to hold onto any of that, you have your answer,

I'd feed. Take a small piece of frozen krill and wiggle it in the tentacles. If the nem doesn't grab it, you may have to hold the food gently against the mouth and see if the mouth will swell up around the food. Upside down, that will be a pain, but a bleached nem needs to eat.

If you can get it turned over like break the small piece of rock over I would trie to feed for sure. If you can get it in a Little Rock I would take it out and put it a Tupperware with no flow and put some food on it's mouth. I've gotten them to eat like that then they don't really have a feeding response

Your GBTA doesn't look bad off. BTA's are pretty smart creatures. They know when they need light, and when there is too much light. If it's hiding under a rock, it wants to be away from the light. You can try and feed it a small amount of mysis / brine shrimp. Even getting a little to stick would be enough for it. Other than that, if it's new to your tank, it may go into hiding until it acclimates to your environment. I've had many do that. After a few days or a week, it'll come out and wander around till it finds a place it will be happy.

Thanks for the advice. I've had her for about a month or a bit longer or so now so I feel she's acclimated, but maybe not. She seems happy there and has taken some regular shrimp pieces that I had to hand feed. She still has a shade a green color so hopefully she will bounce back. Not sure if my "œCurrent Orbit Marine" light is enough to feed a BTA, but I'll be looking at upgrading the lights as I will want to eventually starts some corals.

My other fish are still in QT due to ich so I'll be returning them in 2 more weeks. Maybe she's lonely!
