Bleached BTAs

I had two BTAs that were doing wonderfully, right up until my heater failed in the on position (got home from work and found the tank in the mid 90s). By the time the temperature got back to normal, both anemones were very bleached, they went from a nice brown to a sickly yellow color.

They don't seem to open nearly as much as they used to and don't take food nearly as readily. I've had to feed smaller pieces of silverside in the past because they show less interest and seem generally smaller.

What can I do to nurse these guys back to health?

Are you water parameters in good shape? I would wonder if things may have gotten out of kilter with the temperature going up that high. Providing excellent water conditions and proper light with regular small feedings is the best thing I can think of for you to do to bring them back.

BTA's can survive almost anything... they may recover faster if you feed them daily but more important is healthy water with a regular photoperiod. Good luck!
