I would guess dyed over bleached presuming it's not natural, but beautiful either way...

where did the picture originate from? interent, friend or LFS?

Online coral vendor. Considering buying it, but think that it may just be too good to be true. It would look awesome snuggled up against my red haddoni...

is it a reputable online vendor that would stand behind it's color?....

it really is a beauty and certainly understand your desire to buy it

wow!....that was fast  good luck and PLEASE post pix once you get it acclimated in your tank ;)

Happy Holiday "present" to you...!

I ran it by one of my friends, who is an LFS owner here, and he said since the foot isn't yellow too, he doesn't think it's dyed. Hurray! :)

I'll post pics. Hoping to get it by tomorrow.

IMO/E, it will not stay that color, assuming it makes it -- I have a bigger concern about the mouth than I do with the color. (( Assuming that the vendor would take a picture when it is looking its best, and if that best still has the mouth looking like that, I would be concerned. )).

I would NOT put into your display tank right away, would keep it in a separate tank from the existing S. haddoni for at least 2 weeks. Would hate to have anything to happen to your existing one. I lost both a red S. haddoni and a 12+ year old tan one from an infected new S. haddoni.

I actually e-mailed him about the mouth before purchase, as I was concerned about that as well, and he said that the mouth is generally closed.

That being said, the Red Haddoni I have has been in the display for two months and has yet to close it's mouth all the way. It never deflates, and is gaining back it's color (was more dark pink when I got it), so I'm not entirely sure what's up with that. BUT it's guts never extrude. Just slightly open at all times.

Good point Todd. I'll keep that in mind with this one, but I'm not sure if a seperate QT will be realistic (my QT is bare bottom, and adding sand would defeat the purpose of a stable tank as it would cycle). Maybe I'll QT it at the local LFS.

Interesting to see what color it ends up.

Not sure I like the term "generally" :)

If your red one hasn't fully settled in (( the mouth not being closed all the way )) that would be another reason not to add the new one right away.

Not sure how adding sand would cause a cycle -- shouldn't be an issue. Could put the sand in a tupperware bowl. I would want to keep the anemone at home, so I could monitor its health; it wouldn't be practical for me to do that at an LFS.

I have a feeling it will end up green.

Actually his true term was "closes nicely". :) I have a credit, so I'll give it a try. Not a bad price.

True, my concern with the sand was establishing a bacterial population (ie, a cycle). I suppose I could beg some established sand from a local reefer.

I'm OK with green. Then I'll just need another blue and I'll be set with the triad, lol. Or that nifty rainbow one that was shown a few years ago in a thread. Or a purple. I really want a purple. Or how about orange? lol

Honestly, you could use dry sand in a tupperware.

A purple one is what took out my red one and the tan one. An emergency back surgery took out my blue one. :( Heck, at one point I had 5, now down to just one.

Just a solid green one, which hosts a porcelain crab, the clowns I had for it (( pink skunk pair )) became way too aggressive and were sold.

While losing the red one and blue was really hard, losing the plain tan one was the hardest, since I had had it for 12+ years.

That stinks. :(

I had a blue before the red, but it outgrew the tank. It's in a 1000G now, close to 2 feet. Then the red cropped up at a price I couldn't pass up, so my snowflake clowns are happy again. They dislike bubbletips. Snobs.

I'll be tagging along on this thread. I am not aware of yellow S. haddonis. If I had to guess, I would say that is a bleached fluorescent green haddoni. But something about the color looks weird to me. I don't think it is dyed because dyed anemones typically show the same color throughout.

I wish you luck and am looking forward to more photos when you get it!
