Bleaching?

All my SPS are bleaching. I noticed my mag was a little low right around 1250 on my 150 so I brought it up to 1390 and did a 15 gallon water change. Within 2 days my corals are losing all their color. I did bring my Alk up 1 dkh to 8 but that's it. I just purchased about 300 dollars in new frags and I am afraid I am losing them. My current levels are,

Alk 8
Mag 1390
Calcium 440
Nitrates 0-5
Phosphates 0

Could it have been bad water? Any help will be appreciated.

1250 is not low

By bleaching you mean what? pale color or loss of tissue or white polyps?

How are you controlling your alk? How stable has it been?

Got any pics?

There's so many variables with sps,

How stable is your temp and what is it?

What about circulation? They need a lot.

Also did you start them on the bottom? New frags can be sensitive

And sometimes every things fine you just need to wait from them to adjust to your tank.

The magnesium supplement might have had some impurities in it. How much (in terms of ppm) was dosed per day? We usually recommend keeping it below 100 ppm per day.

I agree that 1250 ppm is not low. The canonical ocean average is 1280 ppm.

Yeah I have learned lots and have come to realize that I probably copper poisoned my water by dosing a very strong mag solution and doing a 15 gallon water change I decided to try to remove the excess copper with chemipure elite I looked for the Seachem copper remover but none of my local LFS had any in stock so I went with the chemipure this is an established reef aquarium with some mature colonies the frags I purchased were pretty unique like setosi and hoetki, and some other cool stuff that's why I am so bummed. It's my established SPS That are bleaching and some tissue loss hopefully they will pull through. As far as the system I have a 100 gallon and a 40 gallon sharing a 30 gallon sump temp is a steady 79 and I have a Aquatronica controller running everything. I have a SWC 250 extreme skimmer, a koralin 1502 calcium reactor, for lighting I have led over my 40 and a 7 bulb aquatic life t-5 running ati bulbs over my 100. I have 2 mp10 on my 40 and 4 mp10 on my 100 for flow so far the fish have been doing well the snails are. Acting drunk and I lost 1 turbo. Thanks for the replies I sure appreciate all the help.
