blennies/gobies

can you mix and match gobies and blennies I know you can't have more than 1 of the same type unless they are mated I have 2 engineer gobies and I would like to get a yellow watchman goby.

Hi. Thats a tough call. I think as long as the tank is large enough so that their territories don't overlap they should be fine. I have seen them in big tanks (80gal) together and they were fine.

If this is going into your 120 you should be fine I think. In my 90 (48" long) I have an engineer goby and a YWG. Engineer's are cool. But make sure that your rockwork is secure on the bottom glass, not just resting on the sand.

Depends on tank size, aquascaping, and the exact fish IMO.

I've got a midas blenny, green clown goby, and a couple masked gobies in my 58. They all ignore each other :)

But ... another fish that resembled the Midas, it would likely go after it mercilessly [drove a dartfish to jump :(]. I'd think some sand gobies, most other blennies to be out of the question.

The engineer "gobies" are neither gobies nor blennies and are quite peaceful (at least when small). The only problem I can foresee in the future is the eventual size these fish can attain. Also, they seem to be loners once they get large. There have been many instances where I observed jawfish and the like sharing burrows with engineer gobies, so I doubt there will be too much of a problem.
