Do you think a lawnmower and ember blenny would be able to coexist in a 6ft 135 gallon tank? I wouldn't be able to add them at the same time, the lawnmower would be added first.
Blennies don't really hate their own kind like a lot of people figure, they are just protective of their grazing area. It also depends on the types of blennies kept. But I've kept two Salarias sp. blennies together in a 120 with nothing more then some regular chasing (which often seemed more like play then fighting). Right now I have a Meiacanthus sp. and Ecsenius stigmatura in a 40 breeder and they don't even seem to notice that the other exists.
I would suggest adding the Ember first though. Lawnmowers seem to have a little more attitude then their relatives and can get touchy about just about any new fish.
Thanks for the info!
I would have added the ember first but I already own him in another tank in another city. The move will be happening in may and I was hoping to get the lawnmower before then.
The ember will be added simultaneously with three other fish though, so perhaps any aggression will be divided amongst them all instead of all focused on the ember?
