Blind clown

I don't know, but I've heard of it before. One guy claimed he had a clown that seemed blind for a few years, he target fed it, and randomly it seemed to get its vision back over the course of few weeks. Good luck figuring it out though!

Parasites are one of the most common we encounter in our tanks, flukes, etc.

Shipping conditions have produced specimens which arrive with vision issues. The eye itself, while clear, will appear to have a distinct ring in it. I do not know the specific variable.

Do you think maybe a long term exposure to uv from a mh light could cause vision problems in a clownfish? The bulb is shielded by glass. It does not seem that enough uv would get through the enclosed fixture to cause vision damage, but.....I don't know.

MH generated UV blindness, not in my experience.

fwiw: I run MH 70wt-400wt exclusively and have for many years. One clown in particular has been under MH since '97. Double and Single ended form factors in longterm use.

I take it your fixture is a Double Ended variety?
