blind lionfish

I have a 50 gallon fish only tank with a Lionfish and a Regal Tang. This morning I noticed the eyes of the Lionfish are cloudy and the poor guy is nearly blind. The Tang is not yet affected. Unfortunately I have to go back to work tonight, and cannot do a water change until tomorrow. Water tests out ok. Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 40 (abit high but within acceptible parameters?) pH is 8.0 with a temp of 80 degrees and salt content is fine too. I do have some red algae but not alot, the tank is usually pristine. The red algae is only on the coral pieces and not on the gravel or glass yet. Could this be the cuprit? I'm afraid I am going to have to euthanize this fish and I am devastated. I would like to know if anyone can provide feedback on possible causes as I do not want to subject another fish to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I do not have a good disease book onhand.
