I'm having some issues with a yellow watchman. He's acting normal but he has an extremely bloated tummy and a blister/bubble on it. Is there a treatment? Is it worth it to til up the tank to get him out?
What you are describing could mean many things: intestinal blockage or swim bladder disorder, intestinal parasites or infection, even a tumor/growth of some kind.
It's best to start with the least invasive solution and go from there. I would try feeding him a boiled, then peeled, pea. Same kind you & I eat. The fiber from that will help "move things along" if it is intestinal blockage. If not, no harm done.
Next step would be to QT, and treat with metronidazole and/or antibiotics. Yeah, hopefully the "pea trick" works.
