Blonde Naso in 250g and info Powder Brown

Good evening,

I'm thinking about what fish I'd like to put in
my new tank next year.

I always dreamt about a blonde naso tang and a powder brown
tang.

Do you think a 250g aquarium will be big enough for a blonde
naso?

Do you have any experience with powder browns?
In Germany it seems there are very few people that
keep this beautiful fish.

Greetings

I have a 210 gal with a blonde naso in it now and will be adding a powder blue in a few months (waiting to add it as my last fish to minimize any fighting).

You should be fine.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

The aquarium will be 2mx0,8cmx0,6cm
so 79 inches x 32 inches x 24 inches if I converted
correctly.

How large is your naso?

Thanks for your answers!

:) so your naso is quite young.

I've seen them in nature, they were pretty big.
But then I haven't seen a captive one larger then 10-15".

Was it hard to get him to eat?
Something I have to look for?

Greetings

Eats like a pig since day one! They are generally very hardy fish.

I have one too in a 6 foot tank. This is my third. My first one was 6" with streamers have no idea what happened to him :( second one wouldn't eat so it died. This last one is a champ. Kind of my tank and keeps my powder blue in check. Usually powder tangs are weak and get sick easily so your tank must be mature and Quarentine all tangs.

Thanks Stacy,

I've seen that sticky before, that's what brought
my question.

It's not just about the gallons, so I really
have to think about getting a naso.

I don't want to get an animal just to have it.
It's important for me to accommodate it as
best as I can.

I think a naso in a 79" long tank should be fine. most recommended tank sizes are based on fully mature fish. we all know fish not grow as large in any home size aquarium as they would in the open ocean. its just a fact. so again, I would think the tank size is fine. and I had a beautiful powder brown. very active fish. from time to time would take laps around the tank at high speed. then just randomly stop and do his normal thing. cool to watch...

I agree. I think your tank dimensions should be fine for one Naso lituratus. I have had one female in my 210 gallon, but it's lightly stocked with only two other angelfish. She's a pig and eats well. Three years here.

So far I haven't seen a fully grown Naso in
captivity.
I've been to a public aquarium called Sealife
Oberhausen, they have a giant fish only tank.
I asked the because of the Nasos they have.
Each individual was older than 6 years, but none
was larger than 10-12".

Did you have other tangs to while you had
the powder brown?
I've got 2 yellow docs and am not sure whether
I can put them together with the powder brown.
