Well this morning i found my Naso on her side. not sure if she will make it or not. any ideas on what to do? she has had some ich but not to bad.

I followed your kick ich thread. My guess is she has not been eating from being sick. At this point I am not sure I would move her to QT as it will more than likely be her demise. I would continue to offer nutritional foods and keep stress to an absolute minimum. lights out wont hurt.

She has never eating much since i got her a few months ago. She was a bi-product oif a delayed shipment at the airport and one of only a couple of survivors. She actually almost died but recovered after a few days. She then got sick with a fungus and recovered form that so shes a fighter. Im just hoping she fights this off. She hasn't ever eating a lot and was really slow to grab her food and would be picky about it, She would eat nori over shrimp any day so i had to offer both of them for her to eat. have a QT ready to be set up, 20 gallon but im not sure i want to stress her with a copper treatment, she has been in the sump for most of the day so i can keep an eye on her. I put her back in the DT for a little bit and the Vjamini Tang attacked her twice !! i removed her form the tank and back in the sump she has gone. Honestly she doesn't look better o worse from this morning so im not sure what to do. I have actually removed her from the sump and DT with my hands, no need for a net because she is so sick. Right now she has been up right and moving her fins for the past hour or so. i have went in the sump about 4 -5 times and picked her up so she doesn't give up, she has nori and some vitamin soaked mysis down there is she feels up to eating. Anyone know why the Vaminji attack her? She ripped her dorsal fin up some. Could this be from a attack or is the tang seeing she is dieing and trying to finish her off? I know if she makes it the Vjamini is gone.

Sounds pretty far gone. I would give her a Formalin bath for some instant relief and then a FW dip when she has perked up a bit.

It's imperative to keep a whole range of medications so you can treat accordingly. I keep Formalin, Paraguard, Cupramine, PimaFix, MelaFix and and PraziPro. If the fish gets through this you should treat with Prazi as you said it never ate well - might be internal parasites.

If the Naso has Ich so does your DT now so if you don't treat all your fish the Naso will need to be in good shape before it goes back in. Good luck.

Unfortunately I have never had a fish make it in that type of weakened state. I would keep her in the sump, maybe something miraculous will happen. But at this point any treatment would certainly finish her off. The Vlamingi attacked here because tangs are territorial and it sense she was in a weak state. For lack of a better work, he was trying to finish her off to gain more territory, basically.

How big is the DT? I'd also say don't put it in a 20 gallon qt, it would probably just stress it more than help. How big is the sump? Although smaller than the DT (probably), it's better than the 20 because it's attached to the main system so the water is oxygenated, cleaned etc, and you can leave lights off to help reduce stress. If it weren't for the vlamingii attacking it, I'd tell you to put it back in the DT.

Good luck!

Well she did not make it and died this morning. :( sad day because that was a good fish and was a fighter to the end. Now i have a QT tank ready for any other issues and will stock up on proper medicines form now on. I will use what you have to help me stock up on what i would need for the future. Sailfin is eating but now shows signs of ich. Im wondering if the kick ich has caused stress on the others. i may stop usage. i turned my UV light back on this weekend.

I am really sorry for your loss.

I have never once read a positive story regarding Kich Ich type products. Bottom line, there is no such thing as a reef safe ich cure. It is snake oil.

im on board with that now. i tried and was prepared for a 5 week treatment. i will probably stop treatment as of now and feed them healthy and food soaked in vitamins but not GARLIC!

There are only 2 proven cures for Ich. Copper and Hypo. Kick Ich is like Formalin and Paraguard. Good for knocking down an infestation and give some instant relief but it's no cure.
