Just realized there is some black patch looking color on my blonde naso tang. LFS says it might be a bacterial infection. has anyone ever experienced this? i will be sure to post a pic asap

I may have the same thing going on with my new naso tang. He's developed dark gray areas on his body 3 days ago. Seems to be eating well. I was told by someone that it may be a sign of stress. I would look forward to another opinion, however.

There is a disease called black spot, or black ich, that consists of small dark flecks. It is unlikely that mine has that because he's in hypo.

At first I thought that they were sting marks - Fish constantly eats, acts well, growing - but now looks a thin.

I'm unsure of what it is and no one ever replied to my thread.

Not black Ich - I tried to take a scraping of one spot to look under the microscope and it appears to be only pigmentary change.

Do the areas seem to be depressed and hyperpigmented? My naso has that, and I've seen them appear and then diminish somewhat when stressed (as during a water change).

I don't want to hijack your thread mikedachamp, especially if you are dealing with something different.

If you have the same thing, they do diminish over weeks and others have slowly increased in size - over months.

Completely flat. .

Mine has had the same thing for almost a year...has eaten well and grown however today I noticed he stopped eating and his belly looks completely pinched...I am afraid I will lose him shortly...very disheartening

I ended up spotting white stringy feces and it is now in QT plus Prazi. If it fattens up and the spots disappear, I will let you know.

Wow...keep me posted...I do fear he will be dead in days and I have no quarantine or ability to catch him. Funny...he has had these gray spots off an on for a year.
