Mine have started to morph away from the "fruit loop" look... the green ring has become yellow/goldish. I'll have to take another pic this weekend when I'm back home... really starting to prove to me that many of the polyps in the hobby are actually the same things, just under different lighting/conditions.
That is totally True! HEck I have the same Polyps sitting in two different tanks that look completely different and the main difference is the lighting. I read another post that dealt with the issue of photo period. My tanks have been at a 12 hour photo period for years. I adjusted one of my small tanks, with lots of Zoas and Palys to a 10 hour photo period and plan to adjust it down to 8 hours in another week or so. In that other post the guy was using a 4 hour photo period. I'm not going to go that extreme but it will be interesting to seen how the corals respond to the change from 12 to 8 hours. Will the colors change? The average size of the polyps is what I'm really expecting to see.
Aquacon is lucky people haven't filed a several hundred thousand dollar class action lawsuit against them for ripping so many people off. Do yourself a favor and search the feedback forums for threads titled "aquacon" for some good laughs.
