Blood Orange Clownfish

Does anyone have any experience with this new hybrid clown? It's the offspring of a maroon x ocellaris... supposed to have the markings of the ocellaris with larger fins and darker red/orange coloration.

I don't have any fish in my tank at the moment and am contemplating what inhabitants I want to add.

I love the ocellaris, but am looking for something a little different this time around. Tank mates would probably be a couple clown gobies.

I'd love to hear about anyone with experience with this fish.

Thanks!

Dont have this hybrid, but i do have a pair of Maroons. My female is very large, and quite aggressive at times, and quite gentle at others.

Make no mistake about it though, Bertha is the queen of my 300g stock tank. nothing happens in there without her approval.

We have some Blood Orange Clowns from ORA at our store they are a little on the aggressive side. Their colour is quite unique from the regular ocellaris as its kind of a fluorescent orange.

Do you think I could do two young ones and let them adjust to being a mated pair? Or would one solo be best?

As I said, I likely would only add clown gobies.

I have a Mai tai clown fish. They're pretty much and same as a maroon in care level, but not as aggressive.

I have a pair of the blood oranges, they are pretty mellow compared to a maroon but slightly more aggressive than a normal occ. I don't see a problem with them being housed with gobies. My two only bicker with each other. I did purchase them back when DD first offered them, I purchased them one at a time but both were around the same size.

I added a Blood Orange to my FOWLR about a month ago and he is the smallest fish in the tank. Gets along great with everyone - surprisingly no squabbles in my fairly aggressive tank and a beautiful, unique fish to boot. Highly recommend! Being is S. Florida I also had the benefit of purchasing at the LFS where the Hybrid originated as well.

Clown gobies should be safe even if the clowns don't like them, as clown gobies taste NASTY. Fish will only go after them once, if that.
