Blow them off

Has anyone used a powerhead to encourage mushrooms to detach from a rock? I want to get rid of mushrooms that are on the bottom rock of a HUGE stack. I'm thinking if I put it real close to the rock.

I took a small screwdriver and taped it to a wooden dowel and scraped away the rock until they floated away. Then snagged them so they didnt start residence somewhere else. Some of these were a good 30" down under water. I hate mushrooms. Can't believe I paid money for these years ago.

can you elaborate on that? Have a bunch in our tank we want to get rid of

Go to your LFS and get Kalk/lime powder OR find some Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime at Wal-Mart (they may not have it seeing that it is more of a seasonal product). Add a enough ro/di water to it untill it becomes just thin enough for a syringe to suck it up. Now, turn off your pumps and returns and squeeze a bit of paste on the mushroom's mouth so they ingest it. The should die off. Keep an eye on your skimmer and do a water change after they die off.

Wonder if ice would make them release, like it does for anemones. I scrape tehm off like Gary . if you're gentle with it ,they'll reet on some rbble for relocation or trading.
